Happy 4th Birthday Teagan

Dear Teagan,

You are four years old today.  These past four years have flown by and you have transformed from a tiny, little baby to a little girl in an instant.  We have so many happy memories with you and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you.  You are a sweet, thoughtful little girl and a loving, caring big sister.  Your language and vocabulary amazes us every day and you carry on a conversation like you are one of the grownups.  You have just started showing an interest in Princesses and you were thrilled to get two rapunzel dolls, a rapunzel book, a rapunzel CD, dress up clothes, and a princess doll accessory set for your birthday.  You brought your rapunzels in their new doll crib to bed with you.  I could hear you in your room singing the song from the movie when Rapunzel's hair glows.  I didn't even know you knew the words, but as usual you surprise me with your knowledge every day so I am not surprised that you have picked that up too!  We love you with every ounce of our being.  You made us parents and you will always hold a special place in our hearts for that and for so many other reasons.  We are excited to throw you a special friend party this weekend and I hope that day is just as special as today and Saturday were.

Love always and forever,
Mommy and Daddy

We had a special birthday dinner at Red Robin, followed by frozen yogurt at a new self-serve frozen yogurt bar.  Teagan picked mango froyo with sprinkles on top.  Declan begged everyone for repeated tastes of their froyo and enjoyed every last one.  Mame joined us for our special evening, too.  After our fun evening out we came home to open gifts and Teagan enjoyed playing with them all before bedtime.

Teagan Turns 4 - Family Celebration

We had perfect weather and a great day to celebrate Teagan's upcoming 4th birthday with a small group of family on Saturday.  The skies were clear and the temperatures were perfect for a pizza party for our special girl.  Teagan had a blast, as did Declan who is walking around everywhere these days.  The only hiccup was the cottonwood falling like snow but no one seemed to mind.  We have more birthday celebrations to come with Teagan's birthday Tuesday, and her friend party on Saturday.

These photos are in total random order because my file numbering got messed up!

Taste of Summer

Be warned - I am about to share a freakishly large number of photos from today.  We had a busy day - spent 2 hours at the zoo this morning where it was the grand opening of the new lion exhibit, followed by playing outside ALL afternoon.  The weather was in the mid-80s and it was so nice to spend so much time outside.  I didn't get much in the way of house work accomplished but we had so much fun I'm not sure I really care.  Ask me in a few days when I am frantically trying to get ready for round one of 4-yr-old birthday parties.

First - the zoo.  Matt had the camera and got some great shots.  70-200mm lens with 2x extender, for those wondering.

The kids loved playing in the little stream

Next - water fun in the back yard to beat the heat.  It was so nice in the shade.

Sibling love...

...and sibling silly-ness

Teagan and her friend Gavin made a muddy mess...and loved every minute
