Impromptu Disney Trip

December 13th - 16th - The circumstances that led us to Disney World this month were less than ideal (will explain in the next post), however we tried to make the best of it and we did have a blast.  The trip was literally planned on Wednesday night after the kids were in bed and we left work at 10am the next morning to pick them up and head to the airport.  We had to sneak into their rooms to get clothes packed and cross our fingers that we had summery clothes in the right sizes since it's the midst of winter weather here.  We didn't even tell Teagan where we were going until we got to the airport.  The trip was only a few days, and even had to be cut short by a day, but it was just the R&R we all needed after the crazy month we had been having.

The flights were decent and we arrived at the Disney All-Star Music resort where we were staying quite late on Thursday night.  Friday was spent exploring the hotel, playing on the playground, riding the monorail, swimming in the pool, and going to Downtown Disney.  Saturday was Magic Kingdom day.  Of course, as our awesome December luck would have it, Teagan threw up during the night before MK.  We delayed leaving by a few hours, and she was finally well enough to try to go.  She had a great time, although definitely wasn't feeling 100% during the day which was unfortunate.  After the kids were thoroughly tuckered, we headed back to the hotel for a swim and dinner.  Sunday we had to pack up and leave the hotel by late morning to get back to the airport in time.  Luckily we had a direct flight home which was really nice.

Teagan loved seeing the Princesses and the character show in front of Cinderella's castle.  Both kids loved the pool, and the playground.  Declan liked the holiday parade and danced to the music.  We went on the Dumbo ride which they both liked, the train, and Teagan did the merry-go-round too.  We saw Mickey, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel, and Merida.

It will be a few years before we return, when Declan is a little older and can appreciate it more and participate more.  That being said, I am SO glad we had this opportunity for Teagan to go at this age, when the princesses and the experience of it is all so magical.  Matt and I both got sentimental seeing how excited she was and loved experiencing that for the first time.
