Go Bills!

Teagan is full of firsts this weekend.  This morning Matt got up with her while I slept in a little (she had a rough night).  After I got up he informed me that while I was asleep Teagan rolled over from her belly to her back. He even set her up in the same position and she did it again.  It was so awesome to see!

We visited Uncle Mike today at his new apartment, and had taco dip and pizza.  Teagan enjoyed the visit with him and Aunt Melissa and hopes to see them again soon.  No pictures as Mommy left her camera in the car :-(

Finally, today T wore her new Bills jersey to root for our team.  She is our littlest fan.  She looked so cute.

Giggles

Ok Blogger isn't liking me today...

Let's try YouTube...

Little Laugher

I am happy to announce we have a little laugher in the house.  Yesterday Teagan was playing around instead of concentrating on eating, and she started giving me big grins.  This made me laugh, and then all of a sudden Teagan laughed right back at me.  This made me literally laugh out loud and she continued with her little giggles while I couldn't stop laughing.  It was such a surreal moment.  I don't know if she has done this before, but I would like to think I witnessed the first time!  Since then I have heard it several more times and even caught it on video.  I think the video is too long to upload here but I can try (it will be in the next post if it works!)

We have been busy - I was in training for work this week until 5 every day so our schedule was all messed up, and I felt like I had no free time.  I would rush home to Teagan and Matt and before I knew it it was bedtime.  I have noticed that T doesn't fight sleep as much recently as she used to.  I can get her to take naps, and getting her to bed is pretty easy.  I am hoping that she can move her bedtime up a little, since right now she goes to sleep at 9pm.

One day this week I came home to see Matt sitting on the couch. Wondering where my sweet little girl was, I gave him a weird look.  He pointed down, so I peeked my head around the corner to see T sound asleep, spread eagle, completely naked - just white socks on her feet and a pacifier in her mouth.  I quickly grabbed the camera and took some shots, although they were blurry because I didn't want to wake her up with the flash.  Apparently she was enjoying some nekkid time and she started to fuss, so Matt gave her her paci.  The next time he looked over she was sound asleep.  So cute - I am sure we will get a kick out of telling her this story when she is older.  This is the more modest version of the picture - a little more appropriate for the interwebs than the zoomed out shot ;-)

Teagan will be 4 months old on Monday.  I can't believe time is going so fast.  She is getting more and more fun and interactive with her surroundings, grabbing at things, making noises, constantly "talking", and now laughing.  I can't wait to see what the coming months bring!!!

Blogging Slacker

I have really been slacking on my blogging duties this week.  What can I say, I've been busy.  Most of my busy-ness involves spending time playing with Teagan and spending time with Matt.  But rest assured, all is well with us.  Hopefully I can get some updated pictures of T posted this weekend.

I found an old picture of T that was from when she was ~1 week old.  I looked at it side by side with a more recent picture and was amazed at how much T has grown!  The blue and red diapers are the same size!

Sorry the one picture is upside down.

9/14 Post 2

Happy Birthday Grandpa C (actually it was 9/12)!!  We celebrated Grandpa Colquitt's birthday today with lunch at Panera and a walk on the canal path. T was a very good girl.  The walk was short because it was hot and humid but we had fun.  Aunt Jenna thoroughly enjoyed her chance to wear T. Matt is absent from the pictures because he was at a work golf tournament.  T and I are enjoying the Bills game now which we taped while we were gone.

9/14 Post 1

First, cute T pictures from the weekend.  She is wearing some fall outfits and her little baby jeans.  She looks so grown up!  Thanks Grammy Sue for the owl shirt and all of the other new "school clothes".

The New Normal

Today, for the first time since I started back to work, I had the feeling of normalcy. Things have finally been ironed out to the point that is comfortable and normal. Dont get me wrong, my life is still hectic, but I know what to expect for the most part, and I am becoming more efficient at the every day stuff, and know how to better multitask.

For example, cleaning and filling bottles once seemed to take forever, but now it goes more smoothly, and Matt knows how to help wash and fill bottles so it alleviates some of the burden. He hasn't been courageous enough to put the extra milk in freezer storage bags yet, which I have to do every few nights to free up my storage bottles to pump into, but he has been a great help with almost everything.

I multitask when I get home by letting Teagan eat and nap in my arms while I relax and unwind and catch up on my email or watch TV and just enjoy spending the time with her.

My morning routine goes well - so well that even when I overslept by 20 minutes this morning I was still only out the door 5 min late. I am enjoying being back at work, and I even have some new and exciting projects coming up. I do miss T, and picking her up is the best part of my day. She even seems to be falling into a more predictable routine with her sleep at home. She regressed slightly from sleeping through the night and is usually up once to eat. Even when I want to get back to sleep, I still cherish those middle of the night wakings - this morning when I swayed with her for a minute after she ate, she snuggled right into my arms and I found myself saying "I know she's asleep already but I'll hold her another minute". She is developing her own personality, and I often say to Matt how lucky I feel to have been blessed with such a great/beautiful/smart/loving child. I have enjoyed every momnt with her, and yet I look forward to all of the wonderful things we still get to experience as parents.

Gotta go - must put this sleeping beauty in her crib for the night.

To Grandma's House

We walked to Grandma and Aunt Jenna's tonight to hang out and have dinner since Matt was away all evening.  Not sure of exactly what we would need, I packed up diapers, toys, a blanket, my laptop, etc and schlepped it all down to my moms.  I thought an action shot of the BOB was in order (for those not up with baby gear lingo, BOB is our stroller brand).  T played with her animals and doll on the pleasant ride home.

Foot rest doubles as diaper bag shelf, car seat adapter bar doubles as a tie down for bag

Laptop bag hangs from handle bar, carrier in the under basket - we had everything but the kitchen sink ;-)

Stroller that has a 70 lb. capacity means T looks like a dwarf baby

Random Picture Post

My rest day to try to get better seems to have helped.  I took a few short naps and in general took it easy.  I did find a minute to upload pictures so I will post a few here, although I must warn you it will be a random grouping.

Teagan wearing Mommy's work socks to keep her legs warm

Bad pic of T but it shows off her DMB onesie that she wore to the block party

The aforementioned block party, as seen from our garage - can you find
E & T (it's like where's Waldo?)

New mirror in the living room - $40 ugly color mirror from Michael's, minus 40% coupon, +$3 can of black spray paint = just the look I was looking for

T sitting with Daddy like a big girl in the swing at K&B's

Mommy's little gangster in her heart print hoodie ;-)

Notice how the cat and the baby are indifferent to one another

Sick House

Our weekend was full of illnesses and overall not much fun.  After running a fever on and off Friday and Friday night, we called Teagan's doctor Saturday AM.  They wanted her to come in. It's a good thing we did, because in addition to her cold she also has an ear infection.  My cold has been ramping up, and I barely slept Saturday night.  Luckily T slept in until 10:30 am so after I was up with her at 6 I was finally able to sleep a little from 6:30 - 10 am.  Matt was up sick to his stomach Sat. night, so that in combination with me not sleeping and feeling miserable, led him to stay home from the Buffalo Bills game to help me take care of Teagan.  She seems to be better, and Matt's upset stomach was an isolated incident, so I am left being the only sickly one. Depending on how the night goes I may have to stay home tomorrow.  If T is better she will go to daycare so I can catch up on sleep and get myself well again.  Hopefully in a day or two we will all be 100% well again.  I have lots of new (cute) pictures on my camera, unfortunately I have not had the energy to upload and post, so for now I will keep you in suspense.

Poor Little T

Teagan is sick for the first time.  I was up with her most of the night.  She was having trouble sleeping from what we now think was/is congestion and sore throat.  She has had a runny nose, runny eyes and a cough today, and a low grade fever this afternoon.  She played in a warm bath this morning (in a pre-steamed bathroom) and has been getting lots of TLC from Momma, who had to stay home with her (and who is also battling cold symptoms of her own).  She has trouble breathing while she eats if she is too congested.  I have to go into work for a bit after Matt gets home, so I am planning to stop at Target for some baby Vicks Vaporub and nasal saline drops.  Hopefully those will help her feel better and sleep better.  She has been a trooper through it all, still playing with me and smiling for me when she has the energy.  Fingers crossed she is back in good health soon.

Picture Fun

Not much time for words but I wanted to throw some more pictures up here!
